Introducing the producers of the
LOUD WORDS & VERDANT RESISTANCE
-poetry festival

The festival's artistic director is Unne Nirhamo. Nirhamo is a queer activist who makes interdisciplinary art. They cite queer ecology, feminism and anarchism as their inspiration. As an artistic director, they are curious, considerate, fair and anti-authoritarian.

Aura Nurmi is an award-winning poet, founder of the youth open mic movement and translator and a cultural producer.  Consistency, audience orientation and genuine encounters are important to Nurmi. She is most comfortable where she comes from, working with grassroots culture. 

Unne Nirhamo and Aura Nurmi have worked as producers and artists in the field of poetry for over a decade. They name Queer Poetry Jams as their most important collaboration. These events have created a clear practice that will be seen at the festival production.
